This report is intended as a convenient guide mainly for those having to design and specify underground drainage systems for jobs that do not justify detailed calculations, and this limited to pipes of rigid up to 300 mm nominal diameter. Only pipes of rigid materials reference may be made to TRRL Supplementary Report 375. This report was prepared in the Groud Engineering Division of the Highways and Structures Department of the Transport and Road Research Laboratory. The material on which the report is based has been drawn from a number of source to the author to whom the the author is greatly indebted, as well as from recent research carried out by TRRL.
